Before purchasing this computer I had questions about its weight and size, so I tried to call Gateway sales. No such place, they refer you to stores that either did not have it or had no plans to carry it. Then I tried calling their tech support, but without a serial number, no-go! So after ordering and receiving it from amazon.com, I confirmed the dimensions and weight as advertised were wrong. The computer is close to dimensions given to other FX series computers. Computer weights 26.8 lbs not 43, the dimensions are (D x H x W) 19.5x18.4x7.5 not the 15.8x14.92x7.09 advertised. My next problem occurred when it would not boot up, I then confirmed with a Gateway tech that it was probably a bad disk drive. Their options were for me to mail it to them for fixing free. But with 1 yr warranty and only 90 days tech support, I did not like that option, repair could have used a good portion of that time. I suggested a local authorized Gateway repair store, but then found that because it was not purchased at these locations I would be charged an extra fee for the repair of this new unused computer, while still losing warranty time. So I returned it to Amazon.com, and without others in stock, they refunded all my money (brownie points for them) and provided free shipping. So a little frustrated and still hunting for a computer.
