(More customer reviews)Like the Title says,This device is quite amazing,I believe it packs alot of bang for the buck.
Having owned a few different netbooks,I can honestly say,This machine is quite impressive.
When i purchased it i expected a netbook like performance,But having the Dual core with 2 gigs of DDR3
and the boosted 1.8 ghz processor compared to the 1.5 or 1.6 netbook makes a noticeable difference.
This device is very spry and agile.
Heres a few things ive tried to do with varying success.
Rip DVD`s ,I have done it,I use an HP external cd/dvd drive,Because its an external drive it naturally has a slower
transfer rate and burn speed,While it was decoding,I was still able to multi task,Get online and talk on IM.
The cpu`s were fairly high at a little over 90%,But that didnt seem to slow it down.
The down fall of the external drive is the time it takes to do a 2 hour movie is doubled to four.
Still not entirely bad knowing that this computer is basically an internet device.
Playing HD movies,720 and 10,80p.AVI files are not an issue.
720 mp4 movies play well,I use the VLC media player,There are tutorials all over the net on how to set up VLC to play HD.
I can say that they worked for me.
Linux People out there.
I have my computer Dual Booted with Crunchbang Linux (Debian based)and Windows 7
and have also had Jolicloud installed.(Ubuntu/Debian based)
Installations on both went extremely easy,Graphics card on each were not an issue.
Crunchbang Linux used the open source Nouveu Nividia driver.
And Ubuntu based used the GLX driver i believe. Had zero issues with either.
Wireless card read write off the bat in Crunchbang but not in Ubuntu.
Was a very simple driver install and Ubuntu was up and running.
If your looking for a High powered computer for 3D games,This isnt for you.
But if your looking for a computer that wont bog down when online multitasking.
Doing School reports and word document type of stuff.This is write up your ally.
Even for the intermediate computer user that wants to use it as a multimedia
computer for watching movies playing music,This will fit the bill.
Plus it looks cool as hell installed on the back of my Acer 19 inch monitor.
